The Most Valuable Jade
The most valubale jade is high grade (A or AAA, depending on the system) jadeite, with glowing translucence and a radiant, vibrant emerald green. Jadeite of this caliber is reserved for use in jewelry and is almost never “carved” but rather cut en cabochon or made into a bead. Jadeite like this can be worth millions of dollars.

| Low Value: The lowest quality jade you can find may be a dyed nephrite jade, totally opaque and unevenly colored, with poor surface quality. | Moderate Value: This is beautiful jadeite jade, with good translucence and nice polish. It is not as brightly colored as the more valuable jade pieces, nor is it as consistent in color. | High Value: This is very fine jadeite jade. It is undyed, with a very bright, consistent green. It is well cut and polished. For green jade, the color is almost perfect, only the translucence could be better. | Highest Value: This single strand of beads is made of perfectly shaped and polished jadeite jade. The jade is exceptionally translucent, deep, vibrant green in color and uniform in appearance. This jade sold at a Christies auction for over $1 million. |
